COVID-19 and Lockdown Support

During the COVID-19 pandemic, At-ta’awuun, under the leadership of Dr. Bashir Yankuzo, established a humanitarian support platform aimed at assisting individuals and families affected by the lockdown. The initiative provided an opportunity for willing donors to contribute either in cash or in kind, and for those in need to register for support. After registration and proper screening, the following outcomes were recorded: Total Number of Donors: 10 Total Registered Beneficiaries: 400 Total Number of People that Benefited: 384 Cash Support: 72 people/families received monetary assistance. 20 families received ₦5,000 each 52 individuals/families received ₦1,500 each Food Distribution: 312 families received 2 mudus of rice and spaghetti each Total Amount Raised: ₦428,000 Amount Remaining: ₦0.00 This initiative helped ease the hardship caused by the lockdown and strengthened the bond of unity and compassion within the community.

Community Empowerment and Ramadan Relief

In addition to the COVID-19 outreach, At-ta’awuun’s humanitarian efforts extended to broader community empowerment programs. Through generous donations and volunteer efforts, several projects were carried out to support orphans, new Muslims, volunteers, and other less privileged individuals. During the month of Ramadan 1443, a total sum of ₦500,000 was distributed as Sadaqah among beneficiaries, with some receiving the funds directly and others via transfer. Earlier, a donation of ₦250,000 was also utilized for COVID-19 palliatives.
